TrainLike a Ballerina is a subscription-based training app founded by ex-professional ballerina and master trainer Louisa Paterson.  Designed to help users build strength, flexibility, and technique, the platform offers a modern approach to ballet-inspired fitness for all experience levels.  With a community of over 200,000 members across 175 countries, TrainLike a Ballerina continues to inspire dancers and fitness enthusiasts around the world.

The original app had strong content and a loyal following but lacked a refined user experience and cohesive visual identity.  Following a recent rebrand, the existing design no longer reflected the premium and aspirational tone of the brand.  The interface felt cluttered and unintuitive, making it difficult for users to navigate programs, schedule workouts, or stay motivated throughout their training journey.

I led a complete redesign of the TrainLike a Ballerina app to align with the new branding and deliver a modern, elegant, and motivating experience.  I began with competitor research across leading fitness and training apps to understand what worked best in guiding users through structured programs.  User testing was carried out during the redesign process with members from TrainLike’s global community to validate key features and ensure the experience resonated with real users.

The result was a clean, intuitive interface that simplifies navigation while maintaining a professional and inspiring feel.  Users can browse programs tailored to their experience and goals, explore the world’s largest library of ballerina-specific exercises, and easily schedule workouts using an intuitive drag-and-drop planner.  Gamification features reward progress through points and levels, encouraging consistency and motivation.  Each exercise includes step-by-step guidance from professional trainers, focusing on strength, flexibility, and technique.  The redesigned app has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback and now proudly holds a 4.9-star rating, reflecting its success in delivering a seamless, elegant, and engaging user experience.
